Update: I lived in Spain until 2022, learned Spanish, bought and rebuilt an apartment in Madrid, met a Spanish girl, and moved back with her to the US in 2022 :)
So in other words, life got in the way. However, based on advice here and learned elsewhere, I gave up on the idea of an experimental in Spain. Instead I plan to return with a certified aircraft. in 2025 I will buy, most likely, the DA40 NG with tundra package. I am also still considering a DA42, a Robin DR401 155 TDI, or a Tecnam P2010 TDI. I want range and like diesels.
1. Since I am importing to Spain in a couple of years (after flying it in the US), Do I really need the ADF option for Europe IFR?
2. Has anyone done the leg from, say, Jerez to the canary islands? I would like to consider that part of my mission profile as I’ve done the Caribbean in my last plane.
