Just came across this little gadget
In short, single person, max 95 kg (doh…), max flight time 20 minutes.
Delivered in a 50% kit, so it is experimental. 92k $ (gulp) .
“Can land anywhere” yea right. In Europe? Takes away most of the utility of it.
Must say, as a dream it looks way cool to commute to work that way. Land on the roof, plug it into a normal socket to charge and fly back in the evening.
Ain’t gonna happen where I live though… but it’s a thought.
Looks very cool. I can already hear the howls of protest from the CAA @ Gatwick. Can’t be avin that…….Dear boy
Would have its uses though in land estates and power line inspection follow up where the normal drone has identified an issue and the engineer needs to be despatched.
Good promo video also
What happens if it gets an engine failure?
You crash;)
Thought so.

well this close to trees, the question is also what happens if the pilot makes a slight change of direction?

It’s a good question, but you don’t necessarily crash as it has 8 engines.

Yeah… you flip and than crash
The company claims that in the case of one of 8 engines failing, the device can land safely. Apart, it has BRS if you fly high enough.
The main question for a device like this is off airport operations. It does not make sense in a country like Germany, Switzerland, Austria and others who restrict take off and landings to licensed airports.
Elsewhere it might be beyond cool.
… as long as you live close enough to your destination … 25 km one-way is about the range limit, zero wind, 5 minute reserve.
I don’t think this has been designed for practicality, more to maximise fun!
I hope the control software is more than 50% assembled…
