Landing with a CB overhead the airport

Obviously the runway was wet which didn’t help

I like a wet runway for crosswind landings, makes it easier imho

Curious why? probably wet tarmac only not wet grass?

I am sure I went off the runway on wet grass with too much crosswind one day (it was from one piece of grass to another piece of grass, so not much drama)

I don’t very often fly the Super Cub on rainy days!
I mean on the heavier aircraft I fly on Tarmac runways, it just allows a tiny bit of sideways movement without a sudden jerk as the wheels grip. It just makes the landings feel a little bit smoother.

Whilst I try to land with zero drift, I am not perfect!

That’s what’s in the heads here but it is changing and getting more severe.

Sometimes it could get as bad as this:

It was right at the threshold of 04R:

We were flying around LFMD (20nm from LFMN) with some wind but still manageable…
For sure around Mediterranean see, it’s changing.

@Neil got it, no lateral skid with drift is very annoying for perfectionists but in most airliners it is usually masked by their high speed touchdown on the same runway point, I suggest they make those runway points wet hole with some regular grease/oil operation
