The POTUS will come to Berlin for his first official visit as president. He was pissed about Merkel for not letting him campaign under the Brandenburg Gate and avoided Germany until now.
To welcome him, Germany just announced that it will close down the airspace within 50NM of the Reichstag between June 18 and June 20. This means 8 GA airfields will be closed.
I am pissed about the Secret Service making such totally unacceptable demands and our idiot authorities complying like some little 3rd world country living off USAid. I have a lot of sympathy for Obama and the US President and it's a historic visit (celebrating Kennedy's famous 1963 speech) but under these circumstances, I rather have him stay in Washington.
I once was in Egypt when the wife of Mubarak visited the town. All inhabitants and tourists were required to stay in their houses during the whole day. This reminds me very much of it. If Obama gets 50NM, then I want Cameron and Hollande to get at least 30NM and in order to not fuel the cold war, Putin should get 50NM as well. And for the next G8 meeting in Germany (hopefully that will never happen), close down the whole country please.
