Headsets (merged)

I am about to buy a new ANR headset to be used in the rather noisy Cessna.
Your advice and recommendations would be appreciated ….

Bose.. Just tried several others (Sennheiser and Lightspeed) but there’s no replacement for my Bose X and the A20 is even better in noise reduction although not in build quality – it feels cheaper..

EDLN and EDKB

I bought a kit to modify my David Clarke 13.10 set. I can’t compare with other ANR headsets, but it’s certainly a big improvement and a lot cheaper.

Cool. I have to try that.

I had 4 x Bose X for 10 years and when I bought the A20 I thought there was something wrong with the engine. I kept watching the EGTs and the fuel flow… It is simply the best!

It has a larger earcup than the X and thus makes you a bit more sweaty. So… you have to get an IR so you can fly higher

ANR is the way to go no matter what.
I converted my 20+ yr old Peltors with a cheapish kit and completely transformed them.
The only downside is forgetting replacement batteries, like yesterday. Boy o boy how noisy that Cherokee cockpit gets when the juice is gone.

In the jet we have Bose X and they are very comfortable. I’ll probably go with Bose or Lightspeed when I retire my Peltors soon.

I have light speed Zulus and am very happy with them.

Did any of you try a Telex 50D or 30XT?
