Bumping this thread… still haven’t found one.

The rental rates from these guys is realistic.
They also do long term rental (contract style which is very good if you were to actually service a raft of your own on the correct dates due to the service cost.
Anyhoo, I would definitely inquire with them incase they will ship it to you.

You might try NEMAD in Schiedam, NL

This German sailing company does sell small rafts at very competitive prices. In 2014 we got one for 1000 Euro. Have not opened it yet…

3 persons is also difficult. We did a test run with an immersion suit years ago and we could only fit 2 people in a 4 person raft so I assume you have to buy for twice the official capacity to make it work.

Thanks guys. So the Maritime market offers more and lower cost options, not surprisingly.

Just be sure to check the weight of the marine ones.

United Kingdom

A “real” certified one costs at least 2k, and weigh 20kg or more. There are also cheap ones, weighing 5-10 kg and costs 1k. These are all marine versions. Maybe there are some “aviation” version? But it sounds a bit oxymoron that some aviation authority should certify marine rescue equipment.

I got this one for trips over the Irish Sea and Channel where at Fl100+ you’re not far from land even with a failure at the mid point. Maybe you want something more sturdy for the Med though. Realistic hopes of getting a 20kg raft out of a Mooney with my wife in the pax seat are slim.

That is a superb option.
Thanks for sharing. 10kg is perfect for me.
I have a six man on the boat and its 22kg!

United Kingdom

Boat rafts are often auto opening which you absolutely do not want in an aircraft; it would likely be deadly. I keep a knife handy in case mine inflated (well, that’s what I tell people ).

Certification has no meaning for private flying, for accessories like this. It’s probably more important to get whatever raft you get serviced every year or two. I use SEMS for mine.

22kg is quite a lot especially if sitting on the back seat.
