Peter, If you haven’t seen this weather site it is amazing. You can select any location, any altitude, zoom out to a world view, etc. It can be memorizing.

What a great site! I particularly like the way one can find a location very easily and see how winds change in force and direction at different altitudes. Very useful, particularly for showing to studes. Thanks for posting @NCYankee. (Yours, too, 172driver!)
