Just watched this 90 minute Amazon documentary on the USN display team. There’s not much information, and zero analysis, but it’s still interesting to follow them through training and the 2022 display season. It’s produced by J.J. Abrams so well put together and the Top Gun-esque flying scenes are impressive. A couple of fun facts: they don’t wear G suits, despite pulling up to 7.5g; and by the end of the season are formation flying just inches apart.
I was lucky enough to see BOTH the Blue Angels and the USAF Thunderbirds at last year’s Point Mugu air show. Absolutely incredible flying!! Going to watch that documentary, thanks for the heads up!
My wife is very enthusiastic about the Blue Angels and so about every two years I see their (free to the public) annual local display, whether I like it or not.
