Not only the pilot but also the bystanders were lucky. Hazard due to flying debris (aileron?)
There was one that went down on the railway in the UK which wasn’t so lucky. They hit the overhead electrification at Colwich Junction in Staffordshire, and the plane burst into flames. (Incidentally, Colwich Junction was the site of a very serious train crash in the late 1980s).
