Beautiful evening for flying yesterday
The new streets and homes under the wing are to house people that have been forced out of their villages near the Garzweiler lignite open mine. The mine is expanding and any villages in the way are being bought out and demolished. The mine, which feeds the power plants on the horizon, can be seen just before the power plants.
Downtown Cologne. No other traffic talking to EDDK tower except a UPS 747. EDDK can be seen just below the horizon on the left side of the photo.
Continuing with rivers and bridges, this taken today… Diverse elements from UK and France both in the picture

Lovely day for flying around the Alps yesterday. It’s rare I do some VFR bumbling around, but the Mrs back injury allowed for some local flying only,
followed by lunch and some more bumbling around. Maybe I should do this more often ;-)
