EBOS - Oostende

I’ve recently done Kortrijk. Amazing airport and those in the border control were so friendly.

I see NL becomes available from the 23rd without a test. So may elect for Rotterdam as I wanted to go late last year.

Hi guys,

Just FYI, the NOTAM pilot Robbie mentioned at EBOS is only valid until 25/03 due to WIP on the runway. From there on no restrictions are applicable.
Until then, between 1100 and 1130 LT and after 1530 LT landing and departure for all GA under 2 ton MTOW is no problem, and as always border control is available at the GA-terminal at apron 3 24/7.

Best regards and see you at Ostend!

Looking to fly to EBOS on Friday. Presume just the formalities of FPL and CUSTOMS to the Belgian GENDEC and UK GAR?

Are there briefing room facilities available?

My understanding, you need to send two separate Belgian GENDEC to both Police and Customs, at the airport you need to see both (Ostend and Kortrijk are very relaxed about this though as it seems they speak to each other but in other airports they have turf war)

Some details can be found on our airports database for EBOS.

Not necessary at Ostend just the Gendec.

Kortrijk, however do require both Police an Customs with 8 hours notice for the police

This is what they sent earlier this year ……..

Before coming to EBKT, our customs wants to be notified 8 hours in advance either by a GenDec

The GenDec or form needs to be sent to [email protected] .

The issue with one, or two, is down to the Belgian gendec booking website. It is referenced in some recent trip reports, and here. The main issue is that there are two tickboxes which can be ticked concurrently, but if you do that, it “blows up”. The police agreed this problem is there.

I think one GENDEC is ok for Ostend & Kortjik, especially Kortjik, the officers are very friendly and can’t be more helpful

However at Antwerp, they are quoting 200€/pob this year for missing that 2nd GENDEC

Anyway, it does not hurt to do full diligence and cover your back, it’s easy to get a***d on this

Very quick visit and nice and easy. Used the lounge upstairs for 30 minutes before returning back. Security were paranoid on arrival, but once we’d been run on the system they didn’t return.
