Robin DR400 wing spar Emergency AD

Ouch. So a number of DR400’s grounded indefinitly? Around 20 known and then they wonder if those parts were used on airplanes which had a wing overhaul since 2000?

Has anyone studied the AD / SB in respect of group 2 aircraft ? Does this mean the rest of the fleet of the models listed.

i.e. all restricted to normal category ?

Thanks

Paul.

Not the whole fleet, only S/N’s 2444-2777 and aircraft with a wing delivered or overhauled by Robin after Feb 2000.
I regularly fly S/N’s 2747 and 2770 – both “only” restricted in operation, not grounded.

Thanks, ours is much older so looking as though we’ve escaped this one ! Phew !

Some very general explanations concerning the repair of wood aircraft components, @Peter:

The technique used for composite parts is similar. However, the slope of the scarf of the stressed part has to be much (!!!) shallower than 15:1.
